We are a church
engaged in mission to the individuals, families and
communities of Santa Rosa, California.
Our Home Page links you to our programs, preaching,
preschool and people.
We’re glad you have found us.
Our Sunday worship services are the largest regular
gathering of the members and
friends
of our church. Our services generally have a single
theme to them linking the scripture, spoken word, and
music to the seasons of the Christian year, and the
emerging issues of our times.
A typical Sunday service is hardly ever typical. Our
music is uplifting. Our guests have included prominent
citizens from the past and present including Mary Queen
of Scots, John Knox, and people who recorded the words
of Christ for generations to follow.
We have included prominent preachers and citizens of the
present such as Hugh Codding who took time off from
building Montgomery Village, to organize a work crew
that build the entire edifice of the Church of the Roses
in just over five hours, in time for the founding Pastor
Bill Bowen, to perform a wedding later in the afternoon.
And there have been four footed guests too:
Dora the Llama, Kazie the Camel, and Popo the Donkey
have led our Palm Sunday parades; canine guests from
Canine Companions for Independence have been part of our
annual blessing of the animals at Christmas.
Our mission reaches into the community through direct
aid to local, national and international missions, and
our volunteers care for the church facilities, build
homes with Habitat, and staff numerous community
agencies.
We care for the sick, comfort the bereaved, and educate
ourselves for the constantly changing issues of a
rapidly changing world.
So welcome to our page. Browse as you wish, and visit us
if you can.
God has a mission for our church, and a purpose for your
life.
