Fall in Sonoma
County is a spectacular time of year, and the
month of October is always exciting at Rosebud
Preschool. We will experience the month through
colors, creatures, and cooking.
Halloween
For many young
children, this will be their first exposure to
Halloween. We are aware that there are families
who do not celebrate this day. We will do
activities that focus on fall, during the
weekdays in October. We have found the best way
to celebrate is at a Family Fall Carnival. On
Saturday, October 25th from 11:00 am
until 1:00 pm, we will host an event for the
entire family. There will be games, prizes, and
a lunch will be served. You are invited to bring
your friends with young children to our family
friendly event. The day is planned for children
two years to early elementary age. The only
thing we ask is that, if you or your children
wear costumes, masks are not worn. Thanks.
The Pre-K
experience continues to be a favorite with the
four year olds and others who choose to
participate. Everyone loves it! Be sure to check
the parent information sheet each day to find
out what they have done. Susan has many creative
activities planned for this month.
Tim
Stein workshop for parents
We will host
our friend and marriage and family therapist,
Tim Stein, at a convenient time for parents.
Please check the sign in area for a survey to
let us the best time for you to participate in
his presentation. Tim brings topics geared
toward young parents and the challenges of
parenthood. His easy manner and inclusive style
make this event one that is well worth your
participation.
Now that we
have been in session for a month, you may have
questions concerning your child or our program.
Please feel free to schedule a time to visit
with me at your convenience. The best times are
Tuesday through Friday from 8:15am until 9:00 am
or after preschool hours. Rosebud Preschool
maintains an open door policy throughout the
day, so that you may drop in at any time. You
are always welcome.
Election
Polling Place
There are two
dates in November that you need to be aware of
for your scheduling. On November 7th,
The Church of the Roses is a polling location.
Please watch your children closely as you enter
or leave our school. Parking spaces may be
limited. November 11th the preschool
will be closed in observance of Veterans’ Day.
Thanks to the
Church of the Roses Voyagers organization for
their donation for parent education that will
bring Tim Stein to our school. The Children and
Youth Committee of the church supports our Fall
Family Carnival by providing youth and adults to
help make the day a success.
As I write
this newsletter, it is very clear that it does
take a village to raise our children. Thank you
for being part of our village.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Cushman and Staff
