Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve.

God comes to us in free and undeserved favor in the person of Jesus Christ who lived, died, and rose for us that we might belong to God and serve Christ in the world. Following Jesus, Presbyterians are engaged in the world and in seeking thoughtful solutions to the challenges of our time.

Presbyterians affirm that God comes to us with grace and love in the person of Jesus Christ, who lived, died, and rose for us so that we might have eternal and abundant life in him.
As Christ’s disciples, called to ministry in his name, we seek to continue his mission of teaching the truth, feeding the hungry, healing the broken, and welcoming strangers. God sends the Holy Spirit to dwell within us, giving us the energy, intelligence, imagination, and love to be Christ’s faithful disciples in the world.

•    More than two million people call the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) their spiritual home. Worshiping in 10,000 Presbyterian congregations throughout the United States, they engage the communities in which they live and serve with God’s love.

•    The Presbyterian Church of the Roses is part of the Presbyterian Church USA (http://www.pcusa.org/).  We are a member of the Presbytery of the Redwoods http://www.redwoodspresbytery.org/

•    Our synod is the Synod of the Pacific. You can find out more about the Presbyterian denomination by selecting the links on this page. The General Assembly is a group of commissioners elected by Presbyteries (such as The Presbytery of the Redwoods) which reviews the work of synods, resolves controversies in the church, is responsible for matters of common concern for the whole church and serves as a symbol of unity for the church.

What we Believe

A summary of our faith includes these things:

In order to understand God, we look to Jesus Christ, who made God known to humankind. We learn about Jesus through the Bible, prayer, and through our experience of the Holy Spirit who is our guide, counselor, and advocate.

Faith in Jesus gives us a positive role model to follow in life. The love of Jesus Christ for all humanity helps us love one another. Jesus rescues us from the power of sin and evil and empowers us to be a healing force in the world.
Jesus calls us to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves.  We answer that call by being humble servants as Christ showed us as he promoted peace on earth. Prayerfully and faithfully we are ready to do what we can to meet the needs of our global family of God, which includes all of creation.

Our Spirit-led work in the world is the work of love and acceptance, working in partnership with others for: freedom from oppression, earth’s healing, and peace and justice for all.We are able to do the work to which Jesus calls us by the power of God’s Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit blesses us with gifts and talents to empower and equip us to do God’s healing work in the world.

We value the connectional system of the Presbyterian Church USA that works in harmony around the world for the benefit of all.

We trust that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord!
